Dictation
Changing Your Hotkey
How to set a custom dictation shortcut in Vorn Voice.
Default shortcuts
| Platform | Dictation | Notes capture |
|---|---|---|
| macOS | Shift + Command + Y | Shift + Command + N |
| Windows | Ctrl + Shift + Y | Ctrl + Shift + N |
| Linux | Ctrl + Shift + Y | Ctrl + Shift + N |
Setting a custom shortcut
- Open Vorn Voice settings.
- Find the Hotkey section.
- Click the shortcut field and press your desired key combination.
- The app validates the shortcut and saves it immediately.
Your shortcut must include at least one modifier key (Shift, Command/Ctrl, Alt/Option). The dictation and notes shortcuts must be different from each other.
If your hotkey is not working
- Make sure no other app is using the same shortcut.
- On Linux with Wayland, global hotkeys may not work in the background. See Hotkey issues for workarounds.
- Try a different key combination if the current one conflicts with a system shortcut.
