Troubleshooting

Permissions

Fix microphone and accessibility permission issues in Vorn Voice.

Microphone permission

Vorn Voice needs microphone access to capture audio for dictation.

macOS

The system prompts you the first time the app tries to access the microphone. If you denied it:

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
  2. Find Vorn Voice and toggle it on.
  3. Restart the app.

Windows

Windows prompts for microphone access on first use. If denied:

  1. Open Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
  2. Make sure microphone access is enabled for desktop apps.

Linux

Linux does not have a built-in per-app permission prompt. Make sure your audio system (PulseAudio or PipeWire) is running and that the microphone is not muted at the system level.

Accessibility permission (macOS only)

Auto-paste requires Accessibility permission to simulate keyboard input in other apps.

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
  2. Click the lock icon to make changes.
  3. Add or enable Vorn Voice.
  4. Restart the app if prompted.

Without this permission, auto-paste will not work. Vorn Voice falls back to copying text to the clipboard instead.

Permission status in settings

Vorn Voice shows permission status in the settings panel. If a permission is missing, a prompt or link to the system settings panel will appear.
