Obsidian Integration

Automatically save Vorn Voice notes to an Obsidian vault.

If you use Obsidian, Vorn Voice can automatically save captured notes to your vault as markdown files.

Setup

  1. Open Vorn Voice settings.
  2. Find the Obsidian section.
  3. Click to select your vault directory. A file picker will open.
  4. Enable Auto-save to Obsidian.

How it works

When auto-save is enabled, every note you capture with the notes hotkey is saved as a markdown file in your Obsidian vault under:

{vault}/Vorn Notes/YYYY-MM-DD HHMMSS.md

Each file contains the transcribed text. The Vorn Notes folder is created automatically if it does not exist.

Requirements

  • The vault path must be within your home directory.
  • Obsidian does not need to be running. The files are saved directly to disk.
  • Notes still appear in the Vorn sidebar regardless of whether Obsidian sync is on.

Disabling

Toggle off Auto-save to Obsidian in settings. Existing notes in your vault are not affected.
