Clipboard Settings
Configure auto-paste and clipboard restore behavior in Vorn Voice.
Auto-paste
Default: Off
When auto-paste is on, Vorn Voice inserts the transcribed text directly into the active application after dictation. It simulates a paste action at your cursor position.
When auto-paste is off, Vorn Voice copies the text to your clipboard. You paste it yourself with Command+V (macOS) or Ctrl+V (Windows/Linux).
Requirements
- macOS: Accessibility permission must be granted. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and enable Vorn Voice.
- Linux (X11): Requires
xcliporxselinstalled. - Linux (Wayland): Requires
wl-copy/wl-pasteor a clipboard manager. - Windows: Works with the standard automation API.
If the required permission or tool is not available, Vorn Voice falls back to clipboard copy.
Clipboard restore
Default: On (only applies when auto-paste is enabled)
Auto-paste temporarily uses your clipboard to insert text. With clipboard restore enabled, Vorn Voice saves whatever was on your clipboard before dictation and puts it back after the paste completes.
This means dictation will not overwrite your clipboard contents.
